11.14.2013

Stocking stuffers are usually just that-- "stuffers," "fillers,"... the small, tiny extras.  To make the gifts inside a bit more meaningful and useful, we are sharing 20+ stocking stuffer ideas that have {or can have} an educational twist!

  • Learning Wrap Ups: Such a neat tool to practice addition, subtraction, states/ capitols, division, etc!  Great learning tool for road-trips, too!!
  • Smencils: I may be 'dating' myself here, but remember those smelly markers from way long ago?!  Well, same concept, but the pencil is smelly!  T had these in his stocking last year ; )  The scents are pretty cool; Root Beer was T's favorite!
  • Safari Ltd.,Toobs: We've fallen in love with Toobs!  Not sure which set will be making it into the stockings this year, but we've had fun with the Coral Reef Toob by creating a Ocean Sensory Play activity.  So many ways to encourage play and learning with these little things.
  • Glue
  • Calculator
  • Flashcards
  • Magazine Subscription {God's World News, Highlights, National Geographic Kids...}: Give a gift that keeps on giving!  My son loves getting mail and has enjoyed the few editions from God's World News: Early Edition.
  • Magnifying Glass
  • Watercolors/ Paint/ Pastels
  • Dice
Anything else I should add to the list?  Will you be adding any of these to your child's stocking this year?
