I Love You More Than Keepsake

I did not plan on doing anything for Valentine's Day, but with seeing so many cute ideas in blog land and on Pinterest, my mind has just been a twirlin' with ideas.  Therefore, I did not plan on sending the grandparents anything this year... but that may have all changed.  Tyler isn't big into doing project after project, so this may take a while to complete so everyone gets one!  Or we'll just be lazy and do something on a smaller scale; sorry to all the grandparents-- you will not be getting a Valentine on Valentine's Day!  I obviously did not plan accordingly!

I've seen a couple of Mad Lib printables for Valentine's Day and tried to do one with Tyler, but he just was not interested;  instead of having him come up with all kinds of nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc...  I had him come up with endings to "I love you more than_____."  To help him brainstorm a bit, I found a tree map for nouns at TpT.

I asked Tyler what he loved and using his answers we filled in the blanks.  I didn't give Tyler much room to fill-in-the-blank, but it says:

I love you more than cars
I love you more than (chocolate chip) waffles
I love you more than candy
I love you more than anybody
I love you more than toys

After Tyler filled in the blanks he used his hands and thumbprints to make a heart garden.  I painted his hand green and he stamped it onto the canvas.

For the hearts, Tyler dipped his thumb in red and pink paint.  Making hearts with your thumb is trickier than it seems; well, we had a hard time with it!!

We made this on a 8x10 canvas, but this could also be adapted to a card or piece of construction paper.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that I think a special pair of grandparents are going to love their keepsake!
